Swedish National Day

To celebrate the Swedish National Day Konow and I printed some Swedish flags and brought some Swedish snack from IKEA. We served vanilla ice cream with cloudberry jam (hjortronsylt), Knäckebröd, skorpor, Ahlgrens Bilar, Salta Fiskar, Skumsvampar och Daim. Everything except the liquorices was appreciated. We explained to our colleagues that the national day in Sweden not is as celebrated as in China (from what we know about how they celebrate theirs). For example that the day not has been a holiday before 2006. They had a little hard time to understand why, and we hadn't any great arguments to answer them. I think the best argument is that we haven't got anything to celebrate, no liberty, no new republic etc...
