Construction

A common view in Beijing - a construction site, something I have written before. This is close to the office, it's the Beijing IFC buildings. Everybody is working to be finished before the end of 2007, because after that it's not allowed to do anything exterior on the buildings. You know, for the Olympics...

The houses in front of the concrete construction are the houses for the workers. It's not that they go home to their own homes after work; they are often people from outside the big cities coming here to get a job. They are called the "Floating population" and nobody knows how many they are in the big cities. You can also see sparkles from welding all night long.
