Konow has a vistor

Mathias, Konow's childhood friend is here visiting. Always great to meet new nice people! Mathias is in a satisfying situation - Garden leave. He has quitted his job start a new one and therefore is he not allowed working at his old job, but still gets paid three months.
We had the standard dinner for all new arrivals in Beijing - Courtyard with the GongBao JiDing and Beijing duck. We're sitting there and having a nice time and the restaurant starts to project a film, they usually do that later in the evening on an unstable projector so the screen is shaking. It has been everything from Hollywood sci-fi b-movies to Chinese drama. But this time it was another kind of movie... I think it was the 50th anniversary (1949-1999) of the republic of China at Tiananmen Square. Tanks, missiles and thousands of soldiers marching unbelievably sharp and rhythmic. It almost looked like an animation (or sometimes as an old Pet Shop Boys video) in one side so strange and wrong but on the other side it was beautiful!
